Faculty
The high school has 24 highly qualified staff members, 46% of whom hold a master’s degree. The teacher-to-student ratio in the high school is
1 to 11.

Students
There are one hundred fifty-nine students currently enrolled in the high school. The average class size at the high school level is 18. The average ACT score of the 2008 senior class was 25.

Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must earn 26 credits. Each course earns either one or one-half of a credit towards graduation. Courses meet five times per week for one semester. Classes meet 50 minutes per period, seven periods per day. Students transferring from other high schools receive a waiver for the religious requirements for those semesters before they transferred to Islamic Foundation School. Graduation requirements by credit hours are: Religious Studies, 2 credits; English, 4 credits; Mathematics, 3 credits; Science, 3 credits; Social Studies, 3 credits; Foreign Language, 4 credits; Physical Education, 2 credits; Health, .5 credits; Electives, 4.5 credits. Students must also pass the US and Illinois Constitution tests, and complete driver’s education.

Grading and Credits
There are 18 weeks in each semester. Letter grades are issued at the end of each quarter. Final semester grades in most classes are a compilation of two quarter grades plus a final exam grade.

Class Rank and Honor Roll
Class rank is determined each semester and is based on a weighted cumulative grade point average of all final grades in courses taken at Islamic Foundation School. Transfer credits are generally accepted for “Pass/Fail” credit. Numerical values assigned are based on the following table:
at Islamic Foundation School to graduate. To date, over 100 students have graduated from Islamic Foundation School.
