About our counselor
Mrs. Linda Qatanani provides academic as well as college/career guidance to students and parents. She has earned a Masters in Counseling from Governors State University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor. Mrs. Qatanani focuses on and provides services regarding academic counseling and college/career planning for all students but mainly middle and high school students.
College and career planning is a major focus for IFS. In the past years, IFS has conducted parent/student workshops, career guidance through web-based software, a career fair, and hosted several different colleges that have presented to students about their respective universities and the programs they offer. This year, Mrs. Qatanani has started to provide the Seniors with in-depth instruction on the college application process as well as focus on career planning, financial aid, applying for scholarships and much more. Mrs. Qatanani will also work with the Juniors in the Spring preparing them for their senior year and selecting which colleges to apply to and choosing a career.
Mrs. Qatanani has been routinely corresponding with parents and students via weekly emails about college/career announcements and updates. In addition, Ms. Qatanani holds an open-door policy for students, parents, and staff to express their concerns via “walk-in” sessions. However, students interested in counseling may request services by completing a form and turning it into the main office, putting it in a counselor’s mailbox, or sliding it under the door of the counselor’s office. Mrs. Qatanani’s contact info is listed below if any students would like to communicate with the her in a more private way.
If you would like to contact our Academic Counselor, you may reach her at 630-941-8800 ext. 2074 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
